Creating Behavioral and Educational Momentum (CBEM) is a respected behavioral services agency that brings lasting and positive changes to the individuals with disabilities we serve. We use only empirically based methods from the field of Applied Behavior Analysis to ensure that our clients reach their maximum potential.
CBEM is seeking a Director of Behavioral Services for our team in Hawaii. This position will be based on Oahu and you must be able to travel to the outer islands if and when needed or as requested by CBEM's stakeholders. The Director of Behavioral Services will report to the Chief Operating Officer.
The Director of Behavioral Services will oversee and actively participate in the development of key clinical programmatic, and administrative duties. In collaboration with CBEM's Executive Team, the Director of Behavioral Services will be responsible for the following areas of operation.
Essential Duties include but are not limited to:
ABA Program Oversight and Implementation
Oversee applied behavior analysis curriculum, program design and clinical reporting to ensure standards and requirements are met across all Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs. Lead meetings with ABA tutors. Provide support, instruction and feedback to families and caregivers in regard to managing challenging behavior.
Design Behavior Plans according to the requirements put forth by contracted agencies and CBEM. Create deadlines in adherence with contractual obligations set forth by CBEM's stakeholders. Foster, strengthen and maintain partnerships with current and future stakeholders. Provide Supervision to CBEM's team of BCBA's.
Design and train all CBEM Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) staff on standardized methods of assessment, goal writing and data collection/data analysis.
Supervise Board Certified Behavior Analysts BCBA and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts BCaBA's.
Human Resource and Case Management Administration
The Director of Behavioral Services will screen resumes and applicants, interview and hire to fill open positions. Conduct and oversee the onboarding of Applied Behavior Analysis staff. Lead new hire orientations, training, and ongoing professional development. Ensure a system for record keeping in accordance with stakeholder requirements. Recruit new staff and clients. Manage intake of new referrals. Ensure case assignments for all new cases.
Carry a caseload of clients and supervise the tutors associated with those cases.
Staff Performance Oversight
Create systems for ensuring quality assurance of clinical staff performance. Provide supervision for clinical staff working toward BCaBA or BCBA certification. Collaborate with CBEM's Vice President of Business Operations to bring forth all employee relation matters. Effectively problem solve and resolve employee conflict. Manage employee informal and formal coaching and counseling sessions. Conduct performance evaluations for employees.
Organizational Management and Goal Setting
Attend and participate in meetings with Senior Management staff and Executive Management staff. Create individual, team and company goals. Contribute short and long term business objectives that will enhance and sustain the growth of our Applied Behavior Analysis service.
Design a job aid for the Director of Behavioral Services and other Applied Behavior Analysis positions within the company.
Be responsible to be aware and work within the budget for clinical expenses that is provided by CBEM'S CFO. Utilize an inventory-tracking system of clinical materials (assessment tools, curriculum guides, etc.). Maintain inventory-tracking system. Obtain corrections to invoices as needed. Utilize company database for tracking clients, staff deliverables and billable hours. Have working knowledge of all contracted services. Implement and follow rules and regulations of all contracted service agencies.
The Director of Behavioral Services will be a key player in reaching out to professionals and other agencies so that CBEM can continue to grow and expand. Our continued growth will allow CBEM to reach more clients who are in need of behavior services. As a result of continued outreach CBEM will continue to reach out and learn other important resources that can be shared with our families.
Minimum requirement Master's degree from a four-year college or university in psychology, education, social work or behavioral science.
Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). A current certification from the BACB must be current and in good standing.
Minimum five years of experience working with persons with developmental disabilities with challenging behaviors is required. In addition 3 years of experience in a leadership position is required.
Salary will be based on education and experience.
